How Maycomb Capital defined ‘just right due diligence’

To prepare for strategic growth last summer, Maycomb Capital held a series of staff workshops to align their team on a shared understanding of ‘just right due diligence’. Experiencing rapid growth as their model of private-public partnerships expanded, founder Andi Phillips felt a need to bring the team together around a shared purpose as operational changes were being implemented.

“We began with stakeholder interviews across the team,” explains Bramble Founder, Ann Boger. “Then, we narrowed in on the team’s need for clarity on what was in and out of bounds as the company evolved, and co-developed a staff workshop that was a mix of mission alignment, brainstorm, and team development - games included.”

A social investment vehicle, Maycomb’s Community Outcomes Fund provides below-market capital for community-based organizations creating positive outcomes in their communities, with a focus on economic mobility.
